Cody earned his B.Sc. degree from Suffolk University in Boston, USA, where he was a Dean’s list scholar, member of the varsity baseball team and editor of the university newspaper. While earning his LL.B. from City University Law School in London, England, he worked as a debate coach and mentor. Cody completed his Articles of Clerkship with a boutique litigation firm in Toronto and was Called to the Bar of Ontario in June of 2015.
Cody has a diverse range of insurance experience including the defence of first party disputes and third party tort claims, and representing insurers as Plaintiffs in subrogation matters. His insurance litigation experience includes personal injury, property loss, occupiers’ and tavern liability, commercial and transactional disputes, accident benefits and disputes between insurers.
Cody has conducted Examinations for Discovery, Examinations Under Oath, and has attended at both Mediation and Arbitration proceedings. Cody has attended numerous motions before Judges and Masters in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and attended hearings at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Cody takes pride in finding practical and cost effective solutions for clients at all stages of the litigation process.
In his spare time, Cody is a passionate music enthusiast and loves playing the drums. He also enjoys watching and playing sports, photography, cycling and travelling.
